Ms. Brown, I started to read your book and could not put it down. Your story pulled me in with such force. I know it was no mistake that I found your book. You see I have been trying to figure out a way to help children in need. I shared with my therapist your book which she has now ordered and she was able to do some research and found something that I could do to make a difference. I am going to start volunteering for CASA (children's adult special advocate). I am truly so inspired by your story. You are an amazing woman. I'm not sure if many others are like me, but I really want to contact Connie since I cannot contact her Mother who has passed. I know it would do no good, but she deserves to be told how evil she truly is even if she doesn't care. How can people be so cruel in this world???? She should face charges for killing your unborn baby. I just want to be able to help all those children who were like you. Our system is so messed up, but maybe if I can be the voice for one child I can make a difference. I guess baby steps. Thank you for sharing your story. It is a true inspiration.

Ive read many books along the same lioness yours & thought at first ..too many pages !!!! Ive just read the last page now, a truly remarkable story of courage, hurt, sorrow, truth,so glad you took the time to share it. I work with young people in inner cities schools everyday of my life, i tell my story of a mis spent youth leading to alcohol related crime int he hope it points them in a different direction. Your book should be read by every citizen of every city,I see the people spitting & laughing at the homeless people on the streets through a complete lack of understanding. Ive stopped many of them & said to them that I hope their life doesn't take a different direction one day, they look at me with distain... Our companys strap line is "Putting people first", thats normal to me, but to many others in our society today its about themselves & their greed, including the powers that rule us. Your story proves that their are good people out there, but not enough, people need to wise up & see that drug addiction & alcoholism are illnesses. Good luck with the rest of your journey Cup, you are an inspiration to everyone, living prove that there is always hope. God Bless Steve Liverpool UK

Cupcake, I just finished your book and WOW! What an incredibly hard life you made it through. I can't wait until my girls are a little bit older so that they can also read it. The irony of that is that they are both around the age that you were when your mama died and life threw you into the unimaginable. Thank you for writing this book with all of your truths in it!

Hey Cupcake! I'm a senior in high school and read your book for my sociology class and am currently writing a paper on it. I just wanted to say thank you for putting your story out there! I loved your writing style and honesty, I had a hard time putting down my copy. Keep doing great things and I hope you write the sequel (I read that it may happen in the future.) Good luck with everything.
Dear Cupcake, I've just finished reading your book - everything else got left because I couldn't put it down. It has no doubt been said to you many times before, but what you have done is truly amazing. My husband has worked with addicts and we know what a huge struggle it is to get off drugs and alcohol. But you did it and more! I wish I'd know about you before you did the UK book tour - do you have any plans to return to the UK? I would love to meet you! May God carry on blessing you.

Your book was introduced to me while I sat in the local county jail in Adams, WI. Your book has inspired all of the women that have sat at least a weekend , since July 2014. In this small town in central Wisconsin, alcohol, prescription drugs and heroin are taking over . Thank You Cupcake for writing your story. God Bless!

I can't tell you how much I enjoyed A Piece of Cake. I laughed and I cried (a lot). It REALLY hit home for me since both my sisters are addicted to crack. The book really opened my eyes to that life and I realized that my sisters were OBVIOUSLY not telling me the truth. I even purchased a copy of your book for my older sister, however, she stopped reading it before she got to the "behind the dumpster" portion (I guess it hit too close to home for her). I'm so, so, so proud of you, Cupcake. I will continue to keep you (and my sisters) in my prayers.
I am delighted to sign this guest book! Cup you are an amazing woman!! I read your book a few years ago and it is truly amazing. From all of your struggles until now. You are such an inspiration and blessing to many! Keep up the amazing work you do! Also I cant wait until the movie!!!! 😉

Hello. I first heard about you and your experience and book from Judge Frank Brown. I was his court reporter for a few years. I read your book. It was a beautiful experience. Before working with Judge Brown I had worked in the Federal Courts in San Diego, and have since, left the Superior Court System and I have been back in the Federal Courts since 2008. I also know Judge Burns. So I could completely picture your book in my mind as I was reading it. I am Hispanic and at the present time, own a home in Logan Heights and live there. I am one of Jehovah's Witnesses and I know first hand how a relationship with God can change a person's life, because He definitely changed mine, which at one time was on a downward spiral. I want you to know that I admire you tremendously and loved your book and your honesty.

I finally finished reading your book and I want you to know I cried, I cried so much especially the part when you finally cried and mourned your mother when V was helping you. By reading your book its a perfect example that anyone can have hope and change there life in a way that is increidible. I had to put the book down so many times, I just couldn't believe how many times you were under the influence of drugs and alcholol. I wonder how your health is today. I hope your healthy. I cant' phatom how much damage you have done to your body. I am very proud you were able to be strong enough to become a wonderful lawyer. May your days continue to be blessed and find a man that can make you happy. Thank you for your story and for telling the world. I would highly recommend it to my friends to read. Thank you again. 🙂
